I’d really encourage people to go into it as a career. It is very accessible – there are many routes you can pursue to get into science, including university degrees, apprenticeships and jobs. I promise that if I can do it, then anyone can 🙂
Science – even just plastics – is huge. At my company we have chemists, materials scientists, quality people, engineers, analysts, regulatory affairs, technical service, mechanics, intellectual property, instrument guys and more. That’s before you even get into all the all the supporting roles such as HR, admin, legal, business, finance and so on.
There’s a huge range of options, so have a look and see what appeals to you.
